This year, Brassfield Elementary decided to do an all school program called One Book, One Brassfield that was started by our fabulous K-2 Literacy Intervention teacher, Mrs. Harrell. Several members from our Instructional Resource Team went to each classroom to deliver the book called Going Places, by Peter and Paul Reynolds. Each class was challenged to see where they could go with the book this school year! Each grade level came up with activities they could do in their classrooms, our makerspace, and specials. Half-way through the year, each class signed up with a member from our Instructional Resource Team. I was lucky enough that Ms. McCraw and her Life Skill's Class signed me up. It just started as a read aloud, then it got even bigger. I had the idea that their class should build their own Go-Karts. From there, the children and the Life Skills team literally took off with the idea. Here is their story and journey through this unbelievable project! (Click the picture for the video)
